We attempt to address these weaknesses by investigating the relevant processes involved within the F/OSS community, to explore possible solutions that could enable the community to provide users with sufficient assurances that the artefacts it produces would function as intended. The aim of this investigation is to present end users with tools that could facilitate the selection of appropriate artefacts produced by the F/OSS community according to their specific needs and requirements. This could increase the willingness to adopt FOSS artefacts outside the developers' community, and eventually enhance the quality of these artefacts. The analysis presented here takes a considerably different approach, in that it focuses on delivering evidence-based solutions that could be verified and validated by users themselves or any
individual or organization who might be interested in the F/OSS artefact in some objective manner.
