4. Conclusion
Catalytic co-pyrolysis of black-liquor lignin and plastics (PE, PP
and PS) were conducted in a fluidized bed reactor. Catalytic
co-pyrolysis improved petrochemical yield and xylene selectivity.
Petrochemical yield was LOSA-1 > spent FCC > Gamma-Al2O3 >
sand. Catalytic co-pyrolysis of PE and black-liquor lignin with
LOSA-1 produced the maximum yields of aromatics and olefins
of 29.9% and 14%, respectively. The aromatic + olefin yield with
LOSA-1 is two times of that without catalyst. Co-pyrolysis with
PE produced more benzene, naphthalene and its derivatives, while
co-pyrolysis with PS produced more styrene because of their
structures.
