In this paper, firstly, an automatic control system of gas temperature was designed according to the control requirements of the gas temperature and the practical problems in the gas temperature control of the heat-calibration wind tunnel. The design of the control system includes the design of the fuel supply system, the design of the field control system and the design of the remote IPC control programs.
Then the flow rate model in the inner loop and temperature model in the outer loop were established, and the dynamic characteristics of the system were analyzed. On this basis, a
DMC-PID cascade control scheme was proposed according to the characteristics of the system model. Finally, the experimental results were carried out in both different control modes by using the proposed control algorithm. Experimental results show that: the control accuracy of the proposed cascade control algorithm in both different control modes is about ± 10 ℃ and the temperature has no overshoot; because the different control mode and different type of the wind tunnel in two experiments, the response time of the two experiments are different, the response time of the system is about 15 sec in the pump mode (the type of the wind tunnel is 900 ℃ -1700 ℃
