To help minimize the risk of injuries in the event of a fire, each employee must be able to reach an emergency exit in a reasonable amount of time.
In buildings with sprinkler systems, travel distance to an emergency exit must not exceed:
•76 meters (250 feet) for factories;
•91 meters (300 feet) for offices;
•122 meters (400 feet) for distribution centers.
In buildings without sprinkler systems, travel distance to an emergency exit must not exceed:
•61 meters (250 feet) for factories, offices and distribution centers.
If local legal requirements are more stringent than above, then you must comply with local law.
