Eight of 15 participants who used the alcoholic– hand-gel regimen during phase 1 experienced increases in electrical capacitance readings during the 2-week rest period.
Twelve (80%) of 15 began phase 2 with readings higher than their respective pre-phase 1 baseline levels.
The difference in the proportion of the two groups (64% vs 80%) that began phase 2 with electrical capacitance readings higher than their respective pre-phase 1 readings was not significant (Fisher’s Exact Test: P=.43).
