5. Conclusion
The fuel nozzle for DME was successfully developed by considering
Wobbe Index, the combustion properties of DME and the results
of previous researches. The performance of the newlydeveloped nozzle was verified through a comparison with the original
nozzle. The proposed fuel nozzle enabled stable operation of
the gas turbine combustor for DME with prevention of flash-back
and reduced emissions of harmful gases such as NOx and CO.
Accordingly, the present development is expected contribute to
the promotion of utility of DME as a fuel for power plants while
achieving cost reduction of the power plants, enhancement in reliability
of the power plants and diversification of usable fuels. Furthermore,
the design methodology can be applied similarly to
other new fuels such as coal-derived synthetic gas, biogas and blast
furnace gas
