There was an increase in the dry matter content, lipids, and proteins in the seed with the application of KA19 and SE. This enhancement of lipids in the seeds influenced by biocontrol agents might be due to them controlling the black rot in comparison to the control. Because of this, the photosynthetic activity of the leaves is expected to enhance and provide precursors for the synthesis of lipids in the seeds. Treatment with biocontrol agents has been shown to increase the content of storage proteins in mustard seeds as also observed in wheat (Biswas et al. 2003) and maize (Shivkumar and Sharma 2003). Induction of systemic induced resistance in tobacco after inoculation with P. tabaci was followed by an increase in the concentration of PR proteins (Tuzun et al. 1989)
