Volatile oil percentage gradually decreased with increasing the
storage time (Fig. 6). All 1-MCP levels significantly retarded this
decrease during storage compared to the control. 1-MCP treatment
at 0.4 gm−3 resulted in the highest volatile oil percentages at all
time points with significant differences compared to the control
or the other 1-MCP treatments. The volatile oil percentage on the
7th day of storage was 87% of its initial value at the beginning of
the experiment when 1-MCP treatment at 0.4 gm−3 was applied.
