Metadata of the available Public Sector Information (PSI) are produced to ensure efficient
information search and retrieval; government information delivery (through the identification of available material in the public sector); the recording of government information so that the
information can be described, located, managed, updated, and hence used more efficiently;
reliability in bibliographic and thematic description; interoperability in systems and standards;
