Aligned thumbnails are representing thumbnails of shot sequences. Aligned thumbnails make user can easily access to their wanting contents by reducing search space. ATC creates aligned thumbnails to be used by sliding interface as shown in Fig. 2. First, ATC extracts frames from stored video. Then it detects shots using color histogram based shot boundary detection algorithm [7]. After shots are detected, ATC uses first frames such as a1, a75, and b1 of shots as keyframes. Then ATC aligns the similar shots using shot sequence alignment algorithm [8]. Finally, The ATC selects first keyframes of the shot sequences as aligned thumbnails such as A1, B1, and C1 as shown in Fig. 2.
