On the basis of the present study, the following
conclusions can be drawn:
•The degree of agreement between theoretical and
experimental results is more for active mode as
compared to passive mode of operation.
•Solar fraction (Fn) plays a very significant role in
thermal modeling of solar still for active as well
as passive mode of operation.
•Relative humidity should be measured inside the
solar still, particularly, for higher depths of water
in the basin.
•Temperature dependent internal heat transfer
coefficients should be considered for thermal
modeling of solar stills.
