Mesoporous carbon template was synthesized by a direct selfassembly
process using amphiphilic block copolymer and phenolic
resin as building blocks [58]. In a typical synthesis, 6.1 g of phenol
was melted at 42 C before 1.3 g of 20 wt% NaOH solution and 10.5 g
of 37 wt% formalin were added dropwise in sequence. After stirring
at 70 C for 60 min, the mixture was cooled to room temperature
and neutralized with 0.6 mol/L HCl. Water was then removed
under vacuum at room temperature to form the phenolic resin
precursor
