The spent stage is characterized by total post-elimination of
the oocytes. In this phase, there is ovarian regeneration (with
reabsorption), oocyte lysis and proliferation of the cellular
elements of the connective tissue. This was also reported in
Palaemon paucidens (Kamiguchi, 1971), Artemesia longinaris
(Christiansen and Scelzo, 1971) and Armases rubripes (Santos
et al., 2009).
