Among the fatty acids listed in Table 3 for Nile tilapia oil, oleic
acid (18:1 n-9) stands out with 31.50%, palmitic acid (16:0) with
25.54%, linoleic acid (18:2 n-6) with 13.73%, and a lower amount
of docosahexaenoic acid (22:6 n-3) with 2.59% and gama linoleic
acid (18:3 n-6) with 1.10%. The refined oil from Nile tilapia showed
an increase in these fatty acids, nearly of 5%, while the palmitic
acid showed a decrease of 15.43% in the refined oil.
