The use of biogas is quite versatile since: 1) its chemical energy can be converted into mechanical energy by controlled combustion processes in stationary engines, which then put in motion the generators to promote a direct conversion into electrical energy; 2) it can be used to co-generate thermal energy, generating hot water and steam with the engine’s high temperatures; 3) it can be burned to generate heat energy in boilers; 4) it can be applied as fuel to automotive and stationary engines [11-16].
