It was at the age of twelve when I first met her and she divulged a secret to me that I believe inspired my desire to become a nurse. She told me about what having an epileptic seizure looked like to someone observing this occurrence and reassured me to tame any fears I may have about seeing this for the first time. She told me what I needed to do if she had a seizure, like ensuring the safety of the patient. We had a bond of trust. I was honored that she felt comfortable to tell me this important information and alleviate any anxiety.
