Evaluation of Effectiveness at the Individual Level
The Cervical Cancer Screening Self-efficacy Scale [27]
was administered to measure the degree of self-efficacy for
requesting a Pap before and after the intervention. This
scale consists of 8 items with Likert responses and 5
options. To evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention at
the individual level, first the difference between the final
and baseline scores of the self-efficacy scale was calculated.
The results obtained for each item were then compared,
as were the global scores between the intervention
and control groups, using the Student’s t test or the Wilcoxon
sum of ranks.
