Nylon 66 fibers for use in textiles, carpet, and tire cord are produced by extrudingmolten polymer through spinnerets and
stretching to their final thickness andweight. The polymer melt must be homogeneous, gel free, and without oversize
additiveagglomerates to achieve highqualityfiber and yields. Filtration of theprocessfeedstreams, additive slurries, and
polymer melt itself areessential tohelpeliminate fiber breaksand enhancefiberstrengthand uniformity. Notonly isfiber
quality improved, but productionratescan be higher with less processdowntime.
