As simple-to-launch dynamic sites allow more do-it-yourselfers to create web pres- ences, the path to content on such sites can change and, of course, degenerate, some- times leading to entirely noncommunicative code. Links can become broken, connections to the source files for photographs can be ruptured, and domain names can expire so that the perceivable rhetorical connections tying the visitor to the newborn are fragmented and that particular history in his or her social community is lost.
