4. Discussion
With treatment shift from LP to FLP, DMI and ECM yield
rebounded to levels similar to MP and HP. Since 3 cows in
treatment LP did not complete the study it has to be
considered if the rebound of the remaining 3 cows were
related to treatment shift per se or a random effect of
maladies. Individual DMI and lactation curves of the
6 cows on LP (data not shown) revealed similar patterns
irrespective of health problems, and indicate that treatment effects were related to dietary P content. Due the
relatively low number of animals per treatment group any
lack of significant differences in response variables as DMI
and milk yield has to be interpreted with caution
