2.3. Preparation of supplementation diet
The chosen ingredients of the formulated basal diet were well mixed and extruded through a pelletizer; the proximate composition of the basal diet was quantified (Table 1). Four experimental diets: 0% (control basal diet without extract), and 1%, 5%, and 10% enriched diets by spraying the R. apiculata extracts into the basal diet slowly, mixing the diets evenly in a drum mixer; the diets were air dried under sterile conditions for 12 h. The control basal diet was added with the same volume of solvent without the extracts. The pellets were dried in an oven at 30 °C for 18 h, then packed, and stored in a freezer at−20 °C until used.
