This is the first RCT to examine the exact effect of
massage aromatherapy on labor pain intensity level and
a wide range of intrapartum outcomes in Iran. Randomization
was successful, and the baseline characteristics
were similar between the two groups. No maternal
adverse effects associated with lavender aromatherapy
application were reported, and there were no related
neonatal ill effects. The study achieved its main objective
in demonstrating that lavender aromatherapy massage is
effective in reliving labor pain, although, in massage only
