4.3). Turn the PCM-Master’s knob until output voltage (setpoint) is 0V. Record input
position.
4.4). Set gain a K to be 0.4 (the mark on the pot’s scale should be 4). Vary an input
position (PCM-Master) slowly until an output position (PCM-Slave) starts to move. If
an output position doesn’t move then choose a suitable a K that makes the PCMSlave
move. Record a K and the input position. This is a dead zone of the gearing
system.
4.5). Repeat this procedure 4.3) - 4.4) but turn input position in an opposite direction.
Record dead zone position. (Note: the total range of dead zone is determined from
procedure 4.4 to 4.5)
