Five Ru(III) complexes containing phosphine and pyridine groups were synthesized.
•
These complexes were characterized by spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques.
•
These complexes were tested as catalytic precursors in hydrogenation reactions.
•
It was observed no dependence of N-groups in the yields of the products.
•
The behavior involves a reduction of the complexes and the loss of N-donor groups.
