Table 1 shows the demographic data of the 30 patients included in
the sample. The mean age was 22.3 years, and included 18 female and
12 male subjects any of them were siblings.
Perinatal data were collected from medical records (Table 2). Since
these data were not available in 3 patients, the sample used in this case
included only 27 subjects.
The remaining information was obtained through the questionnaire
completed by the 30 subjects included. Information concerning the
birth parents is summarized in Table 3, showing a remarkably high
mortality rate of 40% of mothers and 30% of fathers who had died in
the years after the birth of their children.
