In order to comply with the SET disclosure requirement while without intentionally highlighting the purchase price, why don’t we make the announcement through the SET only, but without a press release?
Normally, the general business press would not be too interested in the announcement if merely the purchase price (without other news worthy details) is disclosed.
When we disclosed the purchase prices of King Oscar and Meralliance (almost 5 months after the first announcements in Sep 2014), we did not issue any additional press release on them.
However, the SET announcement was still picked up by Undercurrent News (please see the attachment).
Despite that, the announcement was not much publicized since we also did not try hard to promote it.
So, if Rugen Fisch would be comfortable about our King Oscar and Meralliance disclosure, then we should just do it the same way. Without a press release.
Enclosed are the SET announcement on Feb 26 and the Undercurrent News coverage on the purchase prices of King Oscar and MerAlliance for your reference.
The SET would not care whether we put the purchase price on the auditor’s note or not . They require all information important to shareholders to be disclosed through its own channel. It is purely the auditor’s discretion to decide what to disclose according to their professional practices and potential / contingent liabilities.
