In many ways, the use of digital portfolios can enhance learning.
First, a student enjoys the freedom of creating a portfolio and has
the opportunity to develop as a learner. With this learning
freedom, the student then builds learning strategies. This, in
turn, obliges the student to be more sensitive to best approaches
to learning and the limitations of these approaches. The student
needs to continue to reflect, review, and revise the learning
strategies that he/she has used in completing the portfolio.
Second, a student who reflects on individual learning promotes
an attitude of inquiry that allows him/her to integrate learning,
discover meaning and relevance of the course material, acquire
voice and authority, increase self-directedness, and connect
with the world
