We have developed a coaxial rod-to-cylinder electrode configuration
capable of injecting underwater electrical streamer
discharge plasma into a large volume of water [16]. In order
to assess what is the advantage or disadvantage of the largevolume
reactor over the point-anode-type reactor, in this paper,
the effect of the electrode configuration on the wastewater
treatment is investigated by comparing the coaxial rod-tocylinder
electrode configuration with a point-to-cylinder one.
By using a brilliant-blue FCF solution as monitor pollutants,
the dissipated energy per pulse, the degradation rate constant,
and the energy consumption for brilliant-blue FCF degradation
in both electrode configurations are compared under different
solution conductivities or pH values.
