The elevators open into the reception area of the lobby, where the strongly geometric polished granite reception counter is lifted off the floor by two large stones, left naturally rough. The sleek counter is complemented by vertical slabs of roughly striated stone, which are set in front of the windows overlooking the city-giving the sense of an edge yet daring one to look out over the city-giving the sense of an edge yet daring one to look out over the city lights. To the side, the lobby lounge fills the space between two walls of glass, as if floating over the city. On the far side, six heavy columns of stone and a transparent wall separate the lounge from the swimming pool. Pushed to the edge of the building and entirely surrounded by glass, the pool is made from dark aji granite. Dozens of thin acrylic cylinders hang from the ceiling for dramatic lighting, reflecting in the water surface like far-away stars. Everywhere the city is apparent, with its daytime rush of traffic and night-time bevy of lights, close but yet a world away.
