3.3. Effects of salinity stress on the GR1 in the gill, intestine and kidney
There was no significant difference between FW and SW fish
regarding GR1 mRNA expression on both day 1 and 4 in the gill
(Fig. 1Da). In the intestine, the mRNA expression of GR1 was significantly
increased on day 1 (Fig. 1Db). Conversely, a significant decrease
of the GR1 transcripts in the intestine was observed on day 4
in the SW compared to the FW tilapia (Fig. 1Db). The GR1 transcripts
in the kidney were significantly increased (P < 0.05) by
the SW compared to the FW on day 1, whereas no significant difference
was found on day 4 between the FW and SW fish (Fig. 1Dc).
