7. Numerical analyses – excitation on the basis of seismograms In the numerical researches, the computational model of the building-TMD structure was also analyzed in cases based on real earthquake data. Real seismograms, recorded during famous earthquakes, were modified (rescaled) and became the functions that were time histories of the structure model kinematic excitations. The same time histories of kinematic excitation were also used in experimental studies. The rescaling is linear and pertains to the amplitudes of excitation and time both. The first parameter was changed in such a way that the ratio between the amplitude of the generated signal and the height of the building model was the same as the ratio between the amplitude of the real seismogram and the height of the real building. The histories in time below present the displacement dynamic response of the numerical model to the imposed excitation. The results of the numerical analysis were juxtaposed to the results obtained from real model measurements.
