Conclusion
Uterine contractility, reflected as decrease in uterine blood flow,
could be determined non-invasively using Doppler sonography on
day 2 pp in dairy cows. In contrast, the injection of oxytocin caused
no changes in uterine blood flow on day 5 pp. Furthermore, uterine
blood flow did not respond to oxytocin administration on day 2 pp
in cows with RFM. The OCT on day 2 pp appear to be useful to
investigate the uterine contractile responsiveness to oxytocin and
potential pathophysiology of uterine involution in cows.
