profiles with saliva-alcohol profiles obtained from tests with
QED after the subjects drank 0.80 g ethanol/kg body weight on
an empty stomach. The general shapes of the ethanol profiles
agreed very well regardless of the body fluid analyzed. When
ethanol was ingested after breakfast, the concentration-time
profiles for the three body fluids (breath, blood, and saliva) followed
an appreciably lower level compared with the fasting
state (Figure 2). However, the interrelationships between
saliva-alcohol, breath-alcohol, and venous BAC did not depend
on drinking conditions
