Today I am happy for who I am. I believe every new day should be treated as a fresh start. I look upon life as a challenge and set many hard goals to achieve. Building on that, I take pleasure in keeping busy; I find it very difficult to do nothing for long periods of time. I consider leaning as the greatest benefit we have in life. Many great people have been heard to say, “Knowledge is power and with power comes respect.” I would like to add that if you want the respect you first have to give it, therefore the line, “Treat others in a way in which you wish to be treated,” holds great power to me. Living to lead is my motto; being in control is a great feeling whether it is of a situation or of the people around you. Thankfully I am generally not a shy person though many strong leaders in this world have their share of shyness and still yet succeeded.
Some people say they wish they could go back and change things that have happened in their past to make their lives better. However, I am the type of person who looks at my past no matter how bad certain things could be, from failing a test to getting a detention or something worse, and look back at it as creating the man I am today. Without all those mistakes, I wouldn’t be who I am. When I look at myself in the mirror, I am happy, understanding my accomplishments, and how I turned those bad experiences to further myself as a person.
I have shared that same knowledge with others to help them understand to create a more positive outlook. The good after the effects that the bad experiences in my life have created are immeasurable and it is clear to me that the good has been so much more beneficial. When I had the bad experiences I didn’t see anything good, I didn’t see a happy future at first, but when time passed I was able to see who I had started to become as a result of those experiences. Mistakes teach us to be better people. We cannot learn from perfection, but we can gain a mass amount of knowledge from the imperfections of life and this world alone. Every time something bad happens in my life or to others I always use my personal motto as inspiration that it will be ok, and I share about how true this motto has been in my life. I want people to understand, and accept defeat in one aspect of life knowing it will lead to a victory later on. The victory will always be greater than the defeat, every time. This motto says a lot about me, it tells all that I am willing to keep moving forward no matter what in my life tries to push me back. It’s the guide I use on my journey through life.
