With the release of Windows 10, there have been a multitude of warnings from various sources regarding the privacy and service agreement conditions and settings from Microsoft for the use of their software and services. Despite all of the hype, it is clear that by using Windows 10 – or at least parts of it and some of the offered functionality, apps and services – the user agrees that Microsoft may collect wide-ranging and detailed information.
At the moment, we cannot exclude the possibility that, despite a secure VPN connection, data from the MAGMA internal network becomes part of the information open for collection by Microsoft. For this reason, I ask that you avoid the productive use of Windows 10 in the activities at your sites.
The consequences of the use of Windows 10 at MAGMA need to be clarified and/or a standard for the “privacy settings” required to tame the data collection thirst of Windows 10 need to be clearly defined before a productive use for our business activities can be accepted.
