As already expressed earlier in this report, the ILO and key workers’ organizations
suggest 72 that there is an ongoing problem with widespread low-skill levels and high
turnover rates across the sector. The formalized training opportunities described above at
least go some way to addressing this problem.
5.7. Security of employment
There is very little published by the international hotel chains about detailed
contractual arrangements between hotel employers and their staff, and therefore no detailed
comment can be made here. Accor made a small disclosure in their latest annual report,
defining the number of employees in France who had been employed on fixed-term or
permanent contracts.
