The revised simulation runs with altered conditions indicate that success must be possible. One constraint which needs to be considered is that the velocities in transfer lines, overhead vapour pipelines and the condensers does not exceed erosional veocities. Therefore, the exact benefits may be less or more than the targeled benefits because of equipment constraints.
It is our observation that pressure drop in the fin-fan and cooling water condensers in overhead system of the column are resulting in a total pressure drop of 0.7kg/cm2 which is excessive. After completion of the trials we may suggest a capex plan to reduce the pressure drop which in turn will allow the operating pressure to be decreased further resulting in higher savings.
The off-gas compressor 43K001 temperature and electric power limitation may restrict the level of pressure reduction and must be continuously monitored to avoid tripping.
Another potential constraint shall be the head requirement of the ATB pump which will increase as the operating pressure is reduced. The present opening on control valve# FV-471312 is 40% which shows that pump capacity is not likely to cause a problem.
ADU-2 has a waste heat source for steam generation with make up from the header. in case reduction in steam generation exceeds the steam import, rather than venting the excess steam it will be prudent to increase HGO product drawrate to realize the benefits.
