From a technological perspective, the challenge of the lack of availability of a portfolio tool in the Greek language was faced. There are
different categories of individual e-portfolio tools, such as: a) authoring tools to create portfolios offline that can be published on CDs or
DVDs (e.g. Adobe Acrobat, MSOffice), b) static web services that can be used to create and publish a presentation portfolio (e.g. eFolio
Minnesota) and c) interactive web services (e.g. GoogleSites, WordPress) that also allow for interactivity (Barrett, 2007). However, “the
current trend is moving toward implementing portfolio initiatives as information systems that are supported by current information and
communication technology (ICT) and in particular web-based technology” (Balaban et al., 2013, p. 397)
