et al. (2003) found an effect of 1-MCP in delaying yellowness in the
presence or absence of ethylene in Chinese mustard, choisum and
tatsoi except in mizuna and mibuna. On the other hand, Porter et al.
(2005) found that 1-MCP did not significantly affect either storage
life or senescence symptoms, such as yellowing, of the Chinese cabbage,
but elicited a transient increase in respiration and ethylene
production rates.
