To summarize, the research found that the Big
Five have a stronger effect on SWB than on job
satisfaction. Three of the Big Five—extraversion,
neuroticism, and conscientiousness—are predictors
of SWB. However, only extraversion is a
predictor of job satisfaction. The effect of the Big
Five on SWB is mainly direct, rather than indirect
via job satisfaction. Among the Big Five factors,
extraversion is the strongest predictor of both
SWB and job satisfaction.
