The Temple of the Dawn is a Buddhist temple located on the west bank of Chao Praya River. Its full name is Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan . It is about 280 ft high. It is one of the landmarks of Thailand. It was originally called Wat Chaeng. It is named after Aruna, Indian God of Dawn. Wat Arun consists of one big Khmer style tower which is surrounded by smaller prangs/towers. The outside part of the temple is decorated with porcelain.
