As shown in Fig. 1, the contents of phenolics
and flavonoids in the mushroom fumigated with NO were signifi-
cantly increased 3 days after treatment (P < 0.05), while phenolic
and flavonoid contents in the mushroom without NO treatment
(control) remained relatively constant during the same period
(Fig. 1A and B), showing that the increases of phenolic and flavo-
noid contents in NO-treated mushrooms were not due to the
development-dependent changes in these compounds.
