His brother Prince William is also expected to go out to Brazil if the national team reach the latter stages of the competition something that the bookies think unlikely at the moment.
Both brothers saw a dismal England draw with Algeria in Cape Town in the last World Cup finals.
Harry’s private secretary, Ed Lane Fox, said: “The Prince will carry the good wishes of his brother, who is president of the FA, and will be hoping like everybody else that it will be slightly more memorable than the last England World Cup match he attended, and that he will be cheering England on to the knock-out stages with the other fans.”
The Prince’s itinerary will also take him to Brazil’s largest city, Sao Paulo, before he carries out engagements in and around Chile’s capital, Santiago, and the Pacific coastal city of Valparaiso.
