The developmental expression of arylphorin in C. cephalonica corroborates with previous studies in Plodia interpunctella ( Zhu et al., 2002) Spodoptera exigua ( Tang et al., 2010) and Bactrocera dorsalis ( Tsai et al., 2014), which demonstrated low levels of hexamerin expression during early larval stages, dramatic increase from third instar and a peak in the final larval instar. Thereafter, the expression levels declined during prepupal and pupal stages and reduced to minimal levels during the adult stage. Unlike C.
