DAY 1
Meals: - / - / D
- Meet and greet at de departure point at the lobby of Hotel de Bangkok (around 7:30am)
- Transfer by sky train and local bus up to Bangkok Northern Bus Terminal (Northern and Eastern Provinces)
- Coach journey (Deluxe car) provided with toilet and air-conditioning, from Bangkok to Buriram (possibility for your own picnic)
- Arrival at the Buriram Coaches Terminal by early afternoon & Transfer by local pick-up truck straight to the village
- You will be warmly welcomed by the villagers before having a short walk through the village and its close surroundings
- The evening meal will be served in your welcoming family home where you will discover the local uses and habits
- Overnight in your welcoming family
DAY 2
Meals: B / L / D
- Breakfast in your welcoming family’s house
- Thorough visit of the village, including explanation of villagers’ economical model as well as the diversity of the activities that are here usually performed
- Take the road towards the sanctuary ‘Prasat Muang Tam’ where you will have lunch
- Discover this superb little sanctuary probably built in the 10th or 11th century in Khleang – Baphuon architectural style (This temple is simple but very elegant… A rectangle wall, a central sanctuary and four ornamental pounds… This sanctuary would have been dedicated to the god Shiva)
- The rest of the afternoon will be dedicated to the process of silk making
- At the end of this afternoon dedicated to this noble handicraft, you will enjoy pure countryside air during a short ramble on an ox cart
- The evening meal will be served in your welcoming family home where you will discover the local uses and habits
- Overnight in your welcoming family
DAY 3
Meals: B / L / D
- You will wake up early morning to visit the local market where local products are on display as well as typical delicacies from the region (among other surprises; red ants’ eggs or small local frogs)
- You will then have a fresh waking up biking ride through the village up to a Buddhist temple to bring alms to the monks, following a Thai tradition
- Back to your hosts’ house for breakfast
- Leave the village to discover Baan Kuad, which features a small ceramic museum as well as an old quarry which supplied Khmer temples with stones, at the time they were built (You will also visit old bricks kilns)
- Push forward the discovery of the region with a visit to another small local and unknown Khmer sanctuary, the Prasat Hong Hong
- You will have lunch on the banks of Lam Nang Long dam where you will enjoy nice views
- Afternoon will be dedicated to a masterpiece of Khmer architecture in the region, the superb Prasat Phanom Rung, bulit between 11th and 13th century; this superb temple was built on a rim of an extinct volcano
- At the end of this impressive visit, you will halt at a local temple (Wat Khao Angkhan). It is a highly respected tradition in Thai villages, to halt in temples during free time and venerate Buddha - Thais are very sensitive to the fact that their guests go along with them to the temple
- Common Dinner and local dancers will perform local traditional dances for the occasion
- Overnight in your welcoming family
DAY 4
Meals: B / - / -
- You will have your breakfast in your welcoming family’s house and will pack your belongings for the journey back to Bangkok
- You will bid farewell to your hosts and will be transferred by local pick-up truck back to the Bus Terminal of Buriram, where you will embark on a coach back to Bangkok (plan a picnic)
- Arrival at the bus terminal of Bangkok or the arrival point (Hotel de Bangkok) by late afternoon or early evening
