Knowledge of the FCR is key to establishing the stocking
rate for the montanera season to ensure that the pigs can meet
the requirements of the current Quality Standards for the
Iberian Pig (MAPA, 2007). They need to fatten by at least
46 kg to reach the commercial slaughter weight (≥161 kg of
LW) exclusively with natural resources consumed during at
least 2 months of grazing.
