Upon analysis we found that on the two outer regions of cellulose nanocrystal
ow, we
had thick well aligned lms of gold nanorods and cellulose nanocrystals. We found that the
lms were thickest along the edge of the
ow area, and in these areas the lms also had
the highest amount of alignment. Within these areas the absorption spectra of these gold
nanorods had two well dened surface plasmon resonance peaks, which appeared when the
light was polarized parallel and perpendicular to the director of the cellulose nanocrystals.
