Trees should be spaced 8-10m apart. You can keep them low by pruning during the first years, in order to develop sturdy, well-spaced branches where the fruit are easy to reach. To ensure your plants are healthy, apply 100-200g of ammonium sulphate, or about 50 to 100g of urea, one month after planting and every six months thereafter, the amount increasing as the trees grow bigger. When the trees start to bear flowers, change to complete fertiliser. A full bearing tree may need about 500g of complete fertiliser, applied twice a year.
