Development of and implementation of the new hire orientation program
Ensure that an effective, high quality training program is in place that compliments the Colorado Child Welfare Training System and meets the needs of the pre-service and in-service training requirements for all staff
Coordinate the Annual Adams County Child Welfare Conference and / or other Division-wide training and moral building events.
Compile and maintain statistical records as needed
Determine the resources that are required to achieve the goals of the Division and make recommendations for trainings to higher level management
Management of training funds. Write and submit grant applications for training funds twice annually. Tracking of expenditures and reporting for grant funded training's to meet grantor requirements.
Adhere to the professional standards that are set primarily through state rules, statutes, and manual regulation.
Adheres to Fundamentals of Colorado Child Welfare Casework Practice requirements
Establish workload and qualitative standards for the position
Coordinate staff development opportunities including assessing needs, arranging for experts/speakers to teach/train
Process and track training requests made by staff
Make travel/registration arrangements for out of state conference attendees
Liaison with Supervisors to coordinate with HR for new employee orientation/badge, arrange computer/Trails access, and register for the Fundamentals of Colorado Child Welfare Casework Practice Course.
Liaison with CDHS for certification and re-certification of all staff
Provide support as needed to new workers within the first year of employment
Collaborate with other County Departments regarding training and professional development issues/needs
Provide troubleshooting/training coordination for new and veteran staff
Participate in scheduled supervision, team meetings, section meetings and division meetings
Provide customer service through timely response to phone calls, e-mails, letters and other communication.
Provide direct problem-solving with all levels of Division staff in a professional and courteous manner
Participate in special projects assigned by the Division Director and/or the management team
Participate and collaborate on state committees as assigned
Participate in and at times facilitate Division workgroups.
Complete required 40 hours of training to maintain certification as a Colorado caseworker.
Perform other duties as assigned.
