Most healers used different remedies for curing a disease.
However, 6 remedies were similarly utilized by at least 2 healers;
these treatments included Senna alata (L.) Roxb. for parasitic
diseases and Curcuma longa L. with Nypa fruticans Wurmb. for
hemorrhoids (Table 4). One species was sometimes collected as a
common ingredient in many of the remedies that were used to
cure a particular disease. For example, seeds from Caesalpinia
bonduc (L.) Roxb. were used by 5 healers as an ingredient in
5 remedies for treating parasitic diseases. The bark from Streblus
asper Lour. was used by 3 healers in 3 remedies for treating dental
caries. Furthermore, rhizomes of Curcuma longa L. were selected
by 8 healers as an ingredient in 8 remedies for gastritis
